Gym to Crag Workshop
Climbing outdoors includes many hazards that do not exist in a controlled indoor environment. This workshop addresses the transition from indoor climbing to outdoor climbing and the common scenarios you might face in such a transition.
Days 1 & 2 indoors you’ll learn:
- Stick clipping
- Sport anchors
- Cleaning anchors
- Rappelling (Different styles you might encounter)
- Gear selection
Day 3 outdoors you’ll learn:
- Terrain assessment
- Guidebook interpretation
- The difference in outdoor/indoor grades
- And more!
Pre-requisites:
- Minimum 6 months lead climbing experience
- Climb a minimum of 5.9 in the gym without falling or hanging
- Students must get lead certified at the gym PRIOR to the clinic date
Price: Members: $148.50 / Non-Members: $165
ALL participants and spectators MUST sign our Assumption of Risk/Participant Agreement Form. A link to this form will be included in an email from your guide within the week before the outing. It can be obtained at the gym's front desk or completed online. This is different than our Indoor Liability Waiver.
